Ingredients
  

Pasta and Sauces

  • 8 ounces egg noodles cooked according to package directions
  • 30 ounces tomato sauce 2 cans

Meats and Dairy

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 1.5 cups cheddar cheese shredded

Seasonings

  • 2 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon pepper

Instructions
 

Cooking Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Lightly spray a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Cook the pasta according to package directions, when done, drain and rinse.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, crumble the ground beef until cooked thoroughly, drain the grease.
  • Add in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning, salt and pepper, stir to blend well.
  • Add in the sugar, stirring to mix.
  • Pour in the tomato sauce and stir again.
  • Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes.
  • In a small bowl combine the sour cream and the softened cream cheese.
  • Place half of the pasta on the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  • Top the pasta with half of the sour cream and cream cheese mixture.
  • Spoon half of the meat mixture over the top of the sour cream mixture.
  • Repeat the second layer of pasta, sour cream and meat mixture.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top of the entire casserole and place in the oven.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and beginning to brown.

Notes

This recipe is versatile; you can change the type of meat, cheese, pasta or even add vegetables.
