Equipment

  • microwave
  • baking sheet
  • wax paper
  • Parchment paper

Ingredients

Fruits

  • 12 whole strawberries

Chocolate/Candy

  • 1 cup white candy melts or white chocolate bark Look for 'super white' or 'bright white' for a vibrant color.
  • 1 cup blue tinted sugar

Instructions

Making the Treat

  • Melt the white chocolate bark or candy melts in the microwave in short intervals, stirring frequently, taking care to not scorch. Or use a double boiler on the stovetop.
  • Dip the bottom ⅔ of the strawberry into the melted candy melts/white chocolate, leaving a stripe of red strawberry showing at the top.
  • Then dip just the tip of the berry into the blue sugar.
  • Place dipped strawberries on a rimmed baking sheet lined with wax or parchment paper. To speed up the hardening, place the baking sheet in the fridge for a quicker set. Store refrigerated, uncovered.

Notes

Due to the moisture in the berries, I do not recommend making these more than a few hours before serving, as the blue sugar will start to get 'weepy'.
